    Environmental Systems Corp (ESC) is seeking a Commercial Buildings Energy Auditor to conduct energy audits and perform energy upgrade planning for buildings in New England. In addition to audits, the focus will be on making the business case and gaining client approval to proceed with implementing energy saving projects. Buildings will include commercial, industrial, healthcare, K-12 and higher education markets.

    Travel—50-70% local travel, with 3-hour radius of West Hartford by car.

     

    Requirements:

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Work independently to lead and perform a pipeline of energy audits and own the final deliverables. Work with other team members as appropriate.
    • Tour client facilities and identify all viable energy and water conservation opportunities.
    • Work with onsite facilities management team to acquire needed information for estimate savings, project costs, and conservation measure viability. Ability to build rapport with facility management and building engineer teams a plus.
    • Estimate energy savings and cost savings for each conservation opportunity
    • Work with contractors, vendors, and technology providers to scope and estimate project costs
    • Author assessment report according to templates and standards, and present the results
    • Create energy upgrade roadmap for each site visited
    • Collaborate with a larger team of energy experts supporting multiple clients and other services include renewable energy and smart buildings
    • Work with energy team and project managers to benchmark buildings, track and deploy energy efficiency measures
    • Sustain knowledge of state-of-the-art best practices in energy efficient design/management, including practical knowledge of what will and will not work in a variety of settings
    • Meet program goals and deliverables, including tracking and documentation
    • Potential to lead and grow a national team of energy auditing professionals, staff, and systems
    • Experience in optimizing building automation systems and integration of building systems a plus

     

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in engineering, technology, or related experience.
    • Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, or another relevant credential highly desired.
    • Extensive ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 audit experience working independently and as part of a team. Level 3 audit experience preferred but not required.
    • Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and other benchmarking tools
    • Strong knowledge and previous experience and ability to recognize and recommend various types of energy efficiency measures including Low/No Cost measures as well as capital retrofit and equipment replacement measures
    • Comprehensive knowledge of all common HVAC, lighting, electrical, building envelope and industrial energy conservation measures.
    • Independently produce high-quality reports including explanations, and tables that include financial metrics (e.g. simply payback, IRR)
    • Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work very well with site client leadership and site facilities personnel
    • Self-starter, team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion and analysis.
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
    • Solid technical writing skills
    • Solid mathematical aptitude
    • Project cost estimating experience
    • Proven record of excellent customer service

    The Sales Representative’s main objective is to seek out new HVAC / Mechanical Service opportunities/service agreements for ESC in Commercial, Educational, Industrial, Municipal and Healthcare markets in addition to maintaining relationships with current clients. The ideal candidate will have great people skills, proven track record of successful B2B sales, be motivated, organized and goal oriented. Experience in the HVAC / Mechanical fields preferred but will train the right candidate.

     

    Essential Duties:

    • Cold calling/prospecting
    • Seek out new business opportunities
    • Develop and maintain strong business partnerships
    • Estimate projects, service repairs, and maintenances
    • Develop proposals, and presentations
    • Account Management
    • Renew Maintenance agreements
    • Use (CRM) customer relationship management program 
    • Attend sales meetings and trainings
