WEST HARTFORD, CT

Strengthening Connecticut’s Manufacturing Future:

West Hartford, Connecticut, is home to a strong manufacturing tradition, and at the heart of this legacy stands UTD Precision Manufacturing (UTD), a family-owned aerospace tube, duct, and sheet metal fabricator that has served the manufacturing industry for over a century. Just up the road, Environmental Systems Co. (ESC), A Fidelity Company, has been ensuring that local businesses, like UTD, operate at peak efficiency with intelligent building solutions and expert facility services. Together, we’re two neighbors who are building a trusted partnership rooted in reliability and a shared commitment to excellence.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Performance

At the core of UTD’s operations is a dedication to quality, precision, customer satisfaction, and the local community. Their work supports major aerospace leaders, including Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, and Sikorsky. UTD is also deeply invested in the local community, collaborating with the University of Hartford and supporting educational initiatives through the Carney Scholarship Foundation.

UTD first engaged ESC in 2023 after responding to a targeted marketing campaign. Since then, ESC has provided critical support to UTD’s facilities, enhancing both operational efficiency and employee comfort. ESC’s work at UTD has included HVAC/Mechanical system upgrades, energy-efficient lighting improvements, and proactive maintenance, ensuring a seamless and well-maintained production environment.

“Every representative that ESC has sent is an excellent representation of their company. The communication and service are always top-notch, making it a pleasure to work with them. We look forward to continuing our partnership,” said Ed Easton, Facility Manager and EHS Manager at UTD.

ESC’s recent projects at UTD include:

Ductless Split System Installation – Improved climate control in UTD’s assembly room.

RTU Replacements & Repairs – Multiple rooftop unit replacements and upgrades to enhance HVAC system reliability.

Energy-Efficient Lighting Enhancements – Installation of 13 new floodlights and 8 upgraded parking lot pole heads for better visibility and safety.

Mechanical System Upgrades – Essential repairs and component replacements to optimize equipment performance, including inducer motors and ignitors, condenser motors, blades, and capacitors.

Building for the Future

Manufacturing is a cornerstone of Connecticut’s economy, with over 4,500 manufacturers driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth. The partnership between ESC and UTD highlights the importance of collaboration in sustaining and advancing this vital industry. By providing expert building-integrated systems and facility services, ESC helps manufacturers like UTD stay focused on what they do best—delivering world-class precision manufacturing.

UTD’s contributions to the aerospace industry and investment in future generations through educational initiatives reflect a deep-rooted dedication to their work and the future. ESC is proud to support UTD in these efforts, ensuring their facilities operate seamlessly to meet evolving industry demands. As neighbors and partners, ESC and UTD exemplify how local collaboration can drive progress. Together, we’re cultivating a future of innovation, efficiency, and long-term success in Connecticut’s manufacturing landscape.
