May 17th, 2018
Torrington, Conn. (May 17, 2018) - Representatives from Environmental Systems Corp. (ESC) and Eversource Energy presented Technical Industries Inc. with a rebate check of $58,736 for their participation in a recent energy efficiency incentive program. The energy upgrades totaling at $117,472 that Technical Industries chose to invest in included LED lighting, an Air Compressor and Dryer and air leak repairs. After the 50% incentive, Technical Industries paid only $58,736 out of pocket. In addition to better lighting and the new mechanical systems’ improved reliability, Technical Industries will enjoy long term savings on future energy bills. Annual savings on energy bills are currently estimated to be $23,106.
Aging equipment in manufacturing plants can lead to interruptions in the production process. With these recent upgrades Technical Industries has improved overall operations of their facility which in turn has increased their throughput time as well as their reliability and customer delivery times. Technical Industries qualified for this large incentive by implementing a multi-measure project.
“Much of our production is for individual component parts for assemblies of pharmaceutical products and for initiation devices for which colors are a critical quality component. Due to the new lighting we have experienced reduced number of rejections as any color differentiation is now caught at an earlier stage.” said Susan Parent, CEO at Technical Industries.
Technical Industries Inc. located in Torrington, CT was established in 1994, employs over 30 people and provides plastic injection molding services worldwide. The markets they serve include Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Dental and more.
“Utility rebates are offered to many large facilities in CT and we act as a liaison between these facilities and Eversource. In this case the funds from Energize CT as well as the Eversource Commercial Industrial loan allowed Technical Industries to do this project with no out of capital budget cost.” said Jack Cunningham of ESC.
